I'm a photographer based near London and, since I enjoy seeing the world, I have a particular interest in travel photography, reportage and street photography. Although if I see something that inspires me, then I'll photograph it. Especially if it's rusty or dilapidated.
My aim is not only to capture great images, but to also to try to capture the spirit of the place, the people or the event – whether in London, Llandudno or Lantau.
Having acquired an ancient Box Brownie camera, I began taking photographs aged 7, shooting in black and white, before moving on to a manual-only SLR (the classic Praktica MTL3), mainly shooting colour slide film. I now use a digital SLR – or occasionally a smartphone if I don't have my camera with me – and, after many years of using zoom lenses, now tend to prefer working with fixed prime lenses.
As you can see, much of my photography continues to be in colour, although I also enjoy the timeless drama of monochrome.
